Originally a Commonwealth Bank serving the local community, the bank and Bank Manager’s quarters have been lovingly restored to reflect the Mediterranean Art Deco style of the original building.
Built in 1930 by architect E Henderson, the building showcases many Art Deco traits including barley twist columns, fan shells over windows, a roof parapet with square in fills and a spectacular curved corner entrance.
For owners Pip and Speedy, giving this building new life has been a project of pure joy. Working with Studio Esteta to peel back the layers, they have created artful interiors, playing with light and shade and creating small moments of beauty for guests to enjoy. Sophisticated and earthy tones, highlight the feminine curves of this piece of regional history.
